Underbust

Underbust corsets can be ordered with three different levels of customisation:

For high-waisted or tall people, standard styles can have 2cm added to the length all around the top or bottom for an additional $10.

Overbust

Overbust corsets are only available in fully custom designs, not standard sizes. This is because they are much more difficult than underbust corsets to fit properly with off-the-rack-sizing. Prices start at $375.

Sizing & Levels of Customisation

Fully-Custom: This uses about 14 measurements to result in a corset that fits you perfectly. Use a standard style as your base or go for something totally different; it's up to you!

Standard style - semi-custom: Choose one of my standard styles and I will create it for you based on your particular underbust, waist and hip measurements. You may elect to have a mockup created for an additional $25.

Standard style - standard sizes: Choose one of my standard styles and the size that will fit you best. (Take a look at the size chart below). These are currently available in closed waist measurements of 20", 22", 24" and 26" which correspond roughly to Australian sizes 8-14.

How to Order

Ready Made: Send me an email stating which corset you would like. The corset can be posted out to you or you can pick it up in person. Remember there is also stock held at Burlesque Baby and Mame.

Standard Sized: Send me an email listing the style and size of the corset you would like, along with your desired fabric and any embellishments or trim. If you would prefer you may come to my workroom where I can measure you and you can view my current stock.

Semi-Custom: Send me an email listing the style of the corset you would like and your measurements. Also detail your desired fabric and any embellishments or trim. If you would prefer you may come to my workroom where I can measure you and you can view my current stock. Click here to download the semi-custom measurement form.

Fully-Custom: Send me an email or call me to arrange a time and date for your first consultation. This will take approximately 45 minutes where your measurements will be taken and the design discussed.

Fabric & Design

Standard sized and semi-custom corsets are only available in fabric and trim currently stocked, or suitable fabric supplied by the client. For fully-custom corsets you may choose from current stock, or I will happily seek out fabric and trim samples for you to choose from. You may also supply your own fabric or trim. (Please be sure to send me at least a sample first so I can determine its suitability.

For fully-custom corsets I am more than happy to research ideas and work on designs with you to ensure you receive a unique corset. I do not charge extra for this service! I can create designs in Photoshop so you can see what different designs look like.

Delivery Times

Fully-custom: After the first consultation (or sufficient email contact if you are not located in Perth) a mockup will be created within 10 working days. Second mockups (if required) will be created within 5 working days. After the mockup has been fitted, the final corset will be made within 15 working days.

Semi-custom: Semi-custom corsets will be made within 15 working days. If you require a mockup, this will be created within 10 working days of getting your measurements.

Standard-sizes: These corsets are made to order and will be made within 10 working days.

Fully-custom corsets can be mocked-up and made within three weeks should you have an urgent need, however a 25% rush fee will apply.

NB. These are normal processing times but they may be brought forward or pushed back depending on factors such as current workload or level of embellishment on your corset. I will always let you know if this is the case at your first consultation. Please be sure to let me know if you need your corset by a particular date. Shipping times are excluded from these processing times.

Clients Not In Perth

Corsets can be made for those not in the Perth area, but all postage and handling charges will be added to the final price. Please also refer to the 'Measurement' section below.

Measurements

I prefer to measure you myself for custom and semi-custom corsets, but if you are unable to come to my Perth workroom you can take the measurements yourself. The semi-custom measurement sheet can be downloaded at the bottom of this page. Please contact me for a fully-custom measurement sheet. These contains all the measurements I need and a guide to how to take them. It is generally preferred that you have a tailor or experienced seamstress take these for you as wrong measurements will throw off the fit of the corset. No refunds are given for semi-custom corsets where incorrect measurements have been supplied. Further mockups are charged at $25 each where the changes are due to incorrect measurements.

Please note that when you come to my workroom to be measured, I prefer to measure directly against your skin (with underwear on, of course). This is to ensure I get the most accurate measurements possible. If your corset is to be worn over a particular garment, be sure to bring it with you.

Payment

Payment is to be made in cash, bank deposit or cheque for those in Australia. Cheques need to clear before work can begin. PayPal is accepted for international orders but a 4.5% PayPal commission for foreign money handling will be on-charged and added to the price. If those in Australia wish to pay by PayPal a 3.5% commission will be on-charged.

A $100 deposit is required before any work on your corset can begin. This is to cover the materials used to create it and time taken to make the pattern. The balance is to be paid before delivery of the final corset, or at the final consultation when you pick it up.

Refunds

The deposit paid is non-refundable. Ill-fitting corsets will not be refunded if the errors are due to incorrect measurements being supplied. If there are problems with the final corset, we can discuss these and come to a mutually agreeable solution.

There is no guarantee that standard-sized corsets will fit you properly and no refund if they do not. Please carefully check the size chart and consider a semi or fully custom corset if your measurements differ greatly.

Size Chart

Standard sized Volancia corsets are designed to give a 3-4" (7.5-10cm) waist reduction and be worn with a 2" (5cm) gap at the back. Keeping this in mind, the corset size you order should be 2" smaller than your compressed waist measurement and 5-6" (12.5-15cm) smaller than your natural waist measurement. Use the measurement form below to help you take accurate measurements. If they differ greatly from the ones below, it is recommended that you purchase a semi or fully custom corset.

Please note that the actual corset measurements will be 5cm smaller than the ones given here to allow for the gap at the back. E.g. the underbust measurement of the size 12 corset itself will be 73cm. With the 5cm gap this will give a final underbust measurement of the correct 78cm.
