My client wanted a bright, shiny corset for his Mardi Gras outfit. Because he was going to be wearing it for long periods of time and moving around a lot I recommended a stretchy Lissome corset. There are lots of brightly-coloured Lycras on the market, so finding fabric was no problem.

It is made from one layer of fashion fabric and two of stretchy bengaline. I included waist tape between the two bengaline layers to ensure that his waist would be cinched in and held at the right size. The back extends right up to the top of his shoulder blades to ensure the feather plume would show. There are two removable panels that attach next to the first seam on the front. These are set with large eyelets along their length that flashing LEDs sit inside. It is laced with silver ribbon.
